Everyday life goes on as usual, yet something inside you grows restless. The wish for a small or big change keeps growing. Maybe a new route to work is enough, or a spontaneous conversation, or a decision that’s been a long time coming.

35-36Seeking adventurewith gate 36 · Growing through crisis (Solar Plexus)What Gate 35 is about
One chapter feels used up, and as soon as a new possibility appears, everything pulls toward it — a different place, a different project, a different crowd. Gate 35 describes this pull toward the next horizon, and the wish to pass on later what you learned along the way.
The progress isn’t in the change itself, but in whether an experience broadens your understanding. As a gate in the Throat center, the center of expression, it says “I feel” — but on its own it has no consistent emotional wave. Curiosity stays open to things turning out completely differently; hunger demands that the next experience finally fulfill you.
On its own or in a channel?
Gate 35 has exactly one partner gate: Gate 36 in the Solar Plexus. Only together do they form channel 35-36 — the full path of experience, turning feeling into expression and new beginnings.
Channel 35-36 Seeking adventure
Gate 36 (Solar Plexus) brings emotional depth, the move from inexperience to experience and the possibility of crisis — together the Channel of Transitoriness, a design of being a jack of all trades.
To the channel page →With Gate 35 hanging, the voice of change, curiosity and collecting all kinds of experiences are available. What’s missing is a consistent emotional wave and the crisis function of Gate 36 — any emotional coloring in the moment comes from conditioning or other parts of your chart.

No gate is good or bad — the same energy can carry you or wear you out, depending on how freely it flows. Knowing both sides makes all the difference in everyday life.
When the quality is mature
- Experience for its own sake. Staying curious about what actually happens, instead of just collecting an expected result.
- Separating the experience from making sense of it. Taking time after something new to sort out its consequences and feelings — only then does your perspective become useful to others.
- Asking the people involved. Taking consent, boundaries and other people’s readiness into account, because the consequences rarely affect just one person.
When it comes under pressure
- Writing off the present too soon. You’ve already left inside before the experience is over — and mistake the change itself for progress.
- Collecting experiences, digesting none. Calendars, trips and projects fill up, but there’s no looking back — and without it, experience never turns into wisdom.
- Expecting fulfillment from outside. A new place or person is supposed to end the emptiness — and when it doesn’t, other people get the blame.
- Clinging to an emotional high. In the complete channel, you treat a passing mood as final clarity — and on a low, the same possibility suddenly seems pointless.
Gate 35 through the year
Your chart is a snapshot — but the Sun keeps moving and passes through all 64 gates every year, each for about six days. Around June 1 to 7 it’s in Gate 35: that’s when its theme is in the air as cosmic weather — for everyone, whether or not the gate is activated in your own chart.
Going deeper: the mechanics behind it
- Center
- Throat center (expression and manifestation) — an activated Gate 35 alone doesn’t define the Throat; it stays undefined, but not completely open.
- Harmonic gate
- Gate 36 in the Solar Plexus — it adds the emotional wave, the move from inexperience to experience and the possibility of crisis.
- Channel 35-36
- Channel of Transitoriness, a design of being a jack of all trades — connects the Solar Plexus and the Throat, manifested.
- What it means for your Type
- As the only definition, the channel makes a Manifestor with Emotional Authority. With the Sacral defined as well, it makes a Manifesting Generator; the Authority stays emotional.
- Circuit
- Collective Sensing circuit — experience runs in cycles: it’s lived emotionally, reflected on later and shared for the benefit of the collective.
- Voice
- The Throat voice is “I feel” and expresses the wish for change and progress through experience.
- Pressure theme
- Gate 35 has no fear keynote of its own. Pressure comes more from the hunger for change, boredom, expectations and the temptation to change a feeling by chasing a new experience.
- The six lines
- Line 1 can accept a rejection as a normal part of change — or take it as a personal put-down.
- Line 2 recognizes that inspiration comes and goes — or starts some activity just to fill a sense of emptiness.
- Line 3 achieves more together with others, but can overlook their part when it wants to be the center of attention.
- Line 4 has a strong hunger for change; the question is whether a step opens something up or is just change for its own sake.
- Line 5 can set personal wishes aside so a group can move forward — and should take any resentment about that seriously.
- Line 6 uses its strength to correct things in time; too much harshness, though, feeds the very resistance it wants to resolve.
What a line says only applies to the line that is actually activated in your chart.
Frequently asked questions
Does Gate 35 mean I’m emotionally defined?
No. Emotional definition lies in the Solar Plexus, that is, with Gate 36. A hanging Gate 35 shouldn’t automatically be read as emotional.
Do I constantly need something new in order to grow?
No. An ordinary day can show you something new, while a spectacular trip may just repeat familiar patterns. What matters isn’t the intensity, but whether learning becomes possible.
What does Gate 35 do in your chart?
A single gate is one piece of the puzzle — it only takes on its meaning together with your Type, Authority, centers and all your other activations. In the Basic Reading we look at your chart as a whole: what you can rely on, what is open, and what that means for your decisions.
